Just finished reformatting my laptop so that I have more space on the mac portion. Finally I can save a drawing that I worked on for several hours without having to delete unused files (that I don't really want deleted;; )

It's been a while since I actually came to dA and, like, did stuff other than clear out my inbox occasionally without even looking at anything :/ Kinda wish I hadn't now, since it feels a little snobbish.

Looking over things, I'm still nowhere near the level of expertise I had hoped for at this age and I always feel like I'm running out of time when I see people who totally pwned my art right now... when they were still in high school ;___; I still have some rare good days where I can put down a pencil and draw what I want, but for the most part I'm limited by the majority of days when I just can't. I don't want my art to be a factor of luck-- it's just not right.

Also, I feel like I'm cheating when I have to go over and over the same portion of drawing before it looks like it's not disfigured or just plain odd. A good artist I found on dA (and my dad, the other day) once said that it wasn't the final product that mattered, but the process that goes into it, regarding art. I didn't believe them at first, and I'm still inclined to think my dad has no idea what he's talking about () but now I'm starting to see what they mean. But at the same time, I suppose true talent isn't necessarily measured by how fast you can do an accurate speed drawing, though you gotta admit that that's a pretty awesome skill. I'm still aiming for it .__.
